COMPANY ORIGINS & THE BEGINNING OF A JOURNEY

After feeling the financial pinch from rising college textbook costs, Eunge and Lucy, two classmates at Cal Poly State University - San Luis Obispo, knew there had to be a way to relieve the financial burden being placed on themselves and their fellow students. In 2009, they found the way.

Eunge and Lucy helped lead the launch of what would become a very successful student-driven book exchange website. This free site allowed students to buy, sell, and trade textbooks with their peers and effectively by-pass the campus bookstores. Within months, word of this new service spread to other local colleges. These schools began using the free book exchange as well and helped students save thousands of dollars in the process.

Eunge and Lucy were thrilled to be assisting needy students, but both realized there was a much larger issue at hand: it wasn't just barriers to books that confronted students, but barriers to all kinds of education resources. For Eunge and Lucy, solving the problem of education access became their cause. And it signaled the start of YouVik.com

As a true self-funded start up, YouVik.com began with one dream, one garage and one mission: making business education accessible to everyone, everywhere. A handful of tireless college students and business education advocates worked to turn the garage-housed dream into a full-fledged company known today as Baojian, LLC.

The company and our website continue to grow at a remarkable pace. YouVik.com now has more than 100 teachers, librarians, researchers, journalists and education experts contributing to our website.
